Yutopia ... slightly less guilty way of satisfying your sweet tooth

Ever since the hot summer months have hit Toronto, I've been having huge cravings for Yutopia! In Toronto, the only frozen yogurt places that I know of are Yogen Fruz and Yogoberry, but in my opinion, Yutopia is far more delicious in comparison.Yutopia sells all natural fat free frozen yogurt that lets you build it any way you want it, it's easy as 1, 2, 3.

1) Pick your frozen yogurt: original, green tea, taro, ferror roche, strawberry cheesecake, mango and black seseme. Having a hard time picking between these delici
ous flavours? No worries, you can choose the number of flavours you want and the amount you want.

Original: sweet, a little bit tarty
Green Tea: Tastes just like the ice cream ... but this is a non-fat version!
Taro: if you love taro bubble tea like I do, you'll equally love this frozen yogurt!
Ferror Roche: This is the one flavour that I fee
l Yutopia would need to improve on as it is not 'chocolatey' enough to satisfy my chocolate cravings ... but still not bad.
Strawberry Cheesecake: I have yet to try this flavour. If you have, let us know what you think about it.
Mango: A refreshing mango flavour that's a perfect balance between being tarty and sweet.
Black Sesame: The name might sound gross, but don't judge until you've tasted it! If you love black sesame paste soup, then there is no doubt that you'll love this.

2) Pick your toppings. Unlike Yogoberry and Yogen Fruz where they charge you depending on the number and amount of toppings, Yutopia lets design your yogurt how you want it.

Toppings: Fresh fruits (mango, blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, kiwi etc), chocolate chips, cookie dough, almonds, pecans, mochi (Korean chewy gluten dough), Oreo crumbs, gummy bears ... and much more!

3) Pay for your mouth watering creation and dig in! Yutopia charges 35 cents/ounce. An individual serving will cost you approximately $3.50 - $5.00. You may spend more or less depending on how much you put into your cup.

Today, I decided to get green tea and taro frozen yogurt with diced mango, mochi, chocolate chips, raw cookie dough and lots of Oreo crumbs. Not gonna lie, it doesn't look that good in this photo, but trust me, my mouth was watering while taking this photo.

The only complaint I have about Yutopia is sometimes their flavours aren't consistent. Sometimes, the same flavour i.e. taro, tastes better on one day than another. This is probably because they make their frozen yogurt from scratch and so some batches are a bit off. Other than this, I am in love with Yutopia.

Yutopia is located in Pacific Mall(Kennedy and Steeles) in Markham, Ontario.

Mmmm talking about Yutopia makes me want to drive out to get some more! Seriously, sometimes, they're the only reason I go to Pacific Mall. What do you think about Yutopia? Love it? Hate it? Let us know!

when plain ice cream just isn't enough

For these scrumptious ice cream sandwiches, you'll need:

1 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
vanilla ice cream (or your favourite ice cream)
chocolate chips

Peanut Butter Cookies:
This recipe is taken from http://www.bakerella.com/. They have a lot of great recipes so do visit!
1. Mix the peanut butter, sugar, and egg until well blended (yes, no flour required!!)
2. Refrigerate batter for 30 minutes.
3. Remove from fridge and preheat oven to 325F.
4. Roll mixture into 18 balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet 2 inches apart.
5. Flatten each ball by using a fork to make a criss-cross pattern.
6. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until lightly browned.
7. Let them cool for 20-30 minutes before proceeding with the rest of the recipe (or else they’ll melt the ice cream!)

Ice Cream Sandwiches:
Simply scoop some ice cream on a cookie, then place another cookie on top and press gently to spread the ice cream to the edge.
Place some chocolate chips into the blender so they’ll finely chopped.
Roll the sides of the ice cream sandwich into the chocolate chips.
And ENJOY!
